For the past several weeks, sports enthusiasts everywhere have been glued to the Men’s and Women’s Collegiate Basketball Tournaments. This coming weekend, tens of millions will be glued to their televisions to watch the Final Four as the teams battle it out to see who will play for the championship on Monday, April 3rd. As we watch these teams demonstrate their skills, commitment, and hard work it is important to keep in mind that they didn’t just start preparing for the tournament a few weeks ago. In reality, their preparation started months ago, before the season even started. That preparation and planning is exactly what Supplemental Health Care’s School Division is working towards right now in preparation for the 2017-2018 school year.
The recruitment teams are hard at work trying to add skill and depth to our team. Every day, recruiters are speaking with clinicians and school professionals about why a career with Supplemental Health Care can help them win a personal championship. We are recruiting for our team at college campuses, at career fairs, national professional association conferences and promoting opportunities on social media. We know that our school district clients need a wide-variety of personnel, from nurses to occupational and physical therapists to speech and hearing specialists and psychologists. Our clients need a deep bench with a team full of different skill sets, and it is our commitment to getting them the staff they need.
Supplemental Health Care has local offices in school community’s around the country. Our local teams meet face to face with our school partners about educational and staffing initiatives that matter most to them and to their students. We are discovering new needs for next year and talking with them about our performance this year to make sure we are continuously improving service for their district.
While all of this preparation is taking place for the next school year, our team is also hard at work to finish off this year with a big win. We are supporting our school division staff as they finalize work on the individualized reports and plans for the students they have helped throughout the year. It is especially important to make sure that students who may be transferring out of the district have solid information available to take with them so they can build upon the progress they have made. We also want to make sure our current school-based staff has a plan for keeping their skills up for next year. Supplemental Health Care’s “Schools Out” promotion encourages staff to keep their skills current and even explore new specialties through Supplemental University. The summer break is a perfect time to put in the extra educational work that will help you take your career to the next level.
This weekend, as we watch these athletes display their incredible talents on a national stage, let’s keep in mind that they didn’t make the journey alone. They have had the support of many along the way from family and friends and high school coaches, to professors and athletic trainers. It is a team effort every step of the way. Supplemental Health Care has that same approach to School-based Support Teams. We know how important it is to provide support to our clients and to the staff who are making it happen every day.
Our commitment to those we serve and those who work for us is just one of the many reasons why Supplemental Health Care is a winning team. A perfect example of this commitment is our industry leading BUILD Your Future™ mentoring program. BUILD provides structured, clinical support for SLP’s, OT’s and PT’s who are new to the school setting. From recent graduates to experienced professionals who are practicing in the schools for the first time, we are there to ensure their success and also the success of our clients and their students.
