Judy Solar has been a Labor & Delivery nurse for 32 years and in that time has helped a lot of moms and dads bring their newest family member into the world.  For several years now, Judy had been contemplating making a change and joining the world of travel nursing.

“I had been thinking about this for a while,” she explains.  “Then, I just decided to go for it!  It was a “wow” moment for me; I could travel AND help people at the same time!”

She is currently on her first assignment and it just so happens to be in Hawaii! Yes, you read that correctly, Judy’s first travel assignment is in Hawaii, and she is absolutely making the most of her time there.  Whenever she is not working, she is off on another sightseeing adventure on the islands.

“The people I have met are so friendly, and they all get a kick out of seeing this “older” nurse exploring the Big Island of Hawaii.”

She is already looking forward to a trip she has planned next week, where she will be going on a four-wheel drive excursion up to Mauna Kea, and she is also planning to visit the lava flows at Kilauea.  Judy clearly loves every minute of her new career.

“I am so glad that I took this travel assignment, the people of Hawaii are so unique, and I really feel quite blessed to be here.”

Since this is just her first assignment as a “working tourist,” Judy hasn’t put too much thought into where she wants to go next, once her current assignment ends.  She does know she will be ready for the journey, wherever it may take her.  “As long as I can help families with their new life, then I am ready to go!”
