New Orleans, Louisiana. If ever there was a day in New Orleans without music, it would probably mean that the world had ended. The ‘Big Easy’ is the birthplace of jazz music which morphed into so many other musical genres as it spread across the country. The New Orleans music scene is a variety of street musicians, large music clubs lining famous Bourbon Street, and small venues featuring the music of all genres. Nashville, Tennessee. No list of great music cities in the United States would be complete without including Nashville, Tennessee. The nickname, ‘Music City USA’ wasn’t just given to Nashville, it was earned over decades of live music and the explosion of modern country music. Over the years, Music City has become home to a growing rock and roll scene which spawned the likes of the Black Keys and White Stripes. Visitors can enjoy major musical artists any day of the week and also up and coming stars who play the clubs to try out new music. Nashville is a music lover’s dream location!
